SUMMER BALL NATIONAL CHAMPIONS

Following the BAFA Finals that took place last weekend a number of past and present Destroyers can now call themselves National Champions (once again for some of them!).

On Saturday; Adam McClure, Collins Eguavoen, Dayle Greenfield, Brad Sawyers, Will Elgeti and the Solent Thrashers beat out the Sandwell Steelers 21-14 in a tightly contested game. After narrowly missing out on promotion for the last couple years the Thrashers will be arriving in the Premiership South on the back of a perfect season!

As well as the Destroyers representing the Thrashers, the guys playing and coaching for the London Warriors were also successful in defending their Britball crown on Sunday the 1st. Despite coming out of the half and pulling off a few surprising onside kicks, the Tamworth Phoenix weren’t able to keep up with the Warriors for 4 quarters and the Warriors came out on top at 56-29.

Congratulations to all of our 2019 National Champions, we hope to see plenty of you back in the finals this time next year!
