DESTROYERS ON THE BIG STAGE

This weekend is set to see New River Stadium host the Premiership and Division One National Finals and this year all four teams competing have had current or past members of the Destroyers play or coach for them during the season.

Saturday August 31st - Division One Championship - Sandwell Steelers v Solent Thrashers

Tomorrow we get to see six ex players/coaches as the #1 and #2 seeded teams in Div 1 fight to complete a perfect season and walk away with some silverware. Both teams have already achieved promotion to the Premiership but the hard work isn’t done yet!

Sam Astley and the Steelers will be taking on Adam McClure, Collins Eguavoen, Dayle Greenfield, Brad Sawyers and Will Elgeti who will be kitting up for the Thrashers. Sam may be slightly outnumbered when it comes to the number of Destroyers on his team but we don’t think that’s going to matter with how close this game could end up being - make sure to check out the Onside Productions stream at 4pm tomorrow!

Sunday September 1st - Britbowl National Championship - London Warriors v Tamworth Phoenix

The big one, a rematch of last years final. Can the Phoenix be the only team to challenge the Warriors this year, or will it just be business as usual for the reigning champs?

This year Shemi Adeboye has taken to the field for the ‘Nix after a year spent studying for his Masters at the University of Birmingham. After narrowly beating the London Blitz in the semi-final, the Phoenix managed a chance at redemption following last years loss. To lift the trophy though they’ll first have to get through Ayo Damilola, Dan McKenzie, Lawrence Cornwall-Baptiste and Moses Nejo who will battling to help the Warriors to another Britbowl Victory. As well as the four guys competing on the the field the Warriors will have Chris Herbert and Owen Beynon coaching on the sideline.

Just like the Div 1 final this game will be streamed by Onside productions and kickoff is 4pm Sunday.

Good luck to all our guys competing this weekend, we’ll be tuned in to both games and luckily for us we automatically get to back the winners!
